DMW expresses concern over Filipino domestic worker’s involvement in Kuwaiti child’s death

The Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) has expressed deep concern over the involvement of a Filipino domestic worker in the death of a Kuwaiti child, calling the incident tragic and offering condolences to the bereaved family.

“We convey our sincere condolences to the child’s family and the Kuwaiti government,” the DMW said in an official statement.

The department assured the public that it is closely coordinating with the Philippine Embassy and the Migrant Workers Office in Kuwait to assist the detained domestic worker while cooperating with Kuwaiti authorities on the investigation.

“The DMW, through the Philippine Embassy and Migrant Workers Office in Kuwait, is closely coordinating with Kuwaiti authorities while extending the necessary assistance to the subject domestic worker, with due regard to Kuwaiti laws and the DMW mandate,” the statement read.

The DMW also stressed that the incident is an isolated case and does not reflect the values of Filipinos working abroad.

“We humbly provide the assurance that this tragic incident is isolated and does not represent the values of Filipinos and overseas Filipino workers who are known for their caring nature, professionalism, dedication, and hard work,” the department added.
