Subpoena against dela Rosa to be reactivated the moment he leaves Senate — PNP

The moment Sen. Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa sets foot outside the Senate, the subpoena against him snaps back into force.

PNP spokesperson Brigadier General Randulf Tuaño made this clear at a media briefing Wednesday, saying the CIDG subpoena — currently held in abeyance out of respect for the Senate protection order — will be immediately reactivated once the senator exits Senate premises.

Tuaño said legal proceedings will resume the instant Dela Rosa is no longer within the upper chamber’s protective jurisdiction, signaling that investigators are not standing down but simply waiting.

Authorities said they continue to monitor the situation closely as the investigation and legal process move forward.

The CIDG subpoena, connected to the reopened investigation into alleged extrajudicial killings during the Duterte administration’s drug war, had originally required Dela Rosa to appear before the CIDG Major Crimes Division Unit at Camp Crame. Dela Rosa has been under Senate protective custody since the ICC arrest warrant against him was confirmed, and has not attended Senate sessions since November 2025.
