Celebrating world mental health day: Journaling Zoom session draws 100 attendees

In celebration of World Mental Health Day, approximately 100 individuals participated in a Zoom session on the benefits of journaling, led by multi-awarded freelance TV reporter, Rachel Salinel.

During the virtual event, Salinel passionately advocated for journaling as a means to achieve clarity of thought and peace of mind. She shared insights from her own experience and emphasized the therapeutic benefits of putting pen to paper.

Joining Salinel was psychologist Arlene Lamatsch, a seasoned expert with a Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology from Yorkville University, Canada. Lamatsch, who is currently a therapist at a diagnostic and learning center for neurodivergent children in KSA, shared invaluable tips on managing depression and maintaining a balanced life. Beyond her therapeutic work, Lamatsch also serves as a counselor and mentor at the Philippine-based UGAT Foundation.

It’s worth noting that Salinel was previously recognized for her advocacy on Mental Health and Depression Awareness, having been honored with the Dakilang Bayani (Noble Hero) Award by the Philippine Consulate in Dubai in June 2020.

The event was not only enlightening but also served as a strong reminder of the importance of mental health awareness and self-care in today’s fast-paced world.
