Returning overseas Filipino workers and their relatives turned out in large numbers on July 29, 2026, at Robinsons Naga, where a single venue put dozens of government programs within reach at the Bayanihan para sa Balikbayang Manggagawa: National Reintegration Network Fair.
Recruitment lay at the center of the day’s activities. Thirty-two local employers and licensed recruitment agencies set up at a job fair, opening positions to homebound OFWs as well as other residents looking for work.
The gathering was mounted by the Department of Migrant Workers Regional Office V, which assembled 28 national agencies under one roof. Among the offerings were livelihood assistance, sessions on managing money, training for new skills, and health and wellness services, all directed at workers coming home and the families they support.
Formal commitments were also sealed. The DMW, along with the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority, the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration, the Department of Labor and Employment, and the Naga City government, put their names to a memorandum of agreement meant to tighten how training, jobs, livelihood, and related services are delivered to migrant workers and their households.
Migrant Workers Secretary Hans Leo J. Cacdac took part in the fair together with Naga City Mayor Maria Leonor G. Robredo.
Cacdac tied the effort to instructions from the national leadership. “There’s no question that OFWs are part of the President’s priority agenda. Whether applying for a job, already onsite, returning, or returned OFWs, lahat, on the entire phase of the migration process, ay nandito kami para maglingkod, at ‘yan po ang napakalinaw na mensahe ng ating Pangulo. Bukod pa diyan ang mga programa para sa pamilyang naiwan, pangkalusugan, pangtransportasyon, edukasyon, at iba pang samu’t saring programa ng gobyerno, social services para sa mga naiwang pamilya ng OFWs,” he said.
