Authorities apprehended Yang Jian Xin, the older brother of former President Rodrigo Duterte’s ex-economic adviser Michael Yang, on Thursday at Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 3.
The Bureau of Immigration (BI) and the Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission (PAOCC) revealed that Jian Xin, 54, is facing a deportation case for misrepresentation. He is accused of falsifying his identity as a Filipino and submitting incorrect details regarding his company, Phil Sanjia Corporation, during its certification with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).
In addition to these charges, Filipino employees of Phil Sanjia Corporation have complained about the non-remittance of their Social Security System (SSS), PAG-IBIG, and PhilHealth contributions, according to the BI.
If found guilty, Jian Xin faces deportation and blacklisting. His arrest was announced during a quad committee hearing by Rep. Dan S. Fernandez, who also disclosed that Jian Xin had been using the alias Antonio Lim, with a listed residence in Cagayan de Oro City.
Jian Xin is further linked to rice importation activities through Yangze Rice Mill and is suspected of being involved in illegal Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators (POGOs). The Yang brothers have been under scrutiny for their alleged connections to various illicit operations, including POGOs and money laundering activities.
