Armani Hotel Dubai closes for its biggest makeover since opening inside the Burj Khalifa 15 years ago

Occupying floors within the Burj Khalifa, the world’s tallest building, Armani Hotel Dubai has gone dark as it enters what the brand describes as a complete reinvention of its hospitality offering.

The closure, which took effect April 1, was first flagged by Hotelier Middle East. Online reservations at the property remain blocked through January 4, 2027, reflecting a reopening window the hotel has pegged at the fourth quarter of this year.

Armani Hotel Dubai carries the distinction of being the first property anywhere in the world conceived and designed by Giorgio Armani himself. It opened in 2010 alongside the Burj Khalifa during the skyscraper’s inaugural year.

In a statement, the hotel framed the shutdown as a necessary evolution rather than a pause: “Just as the world of fashion moves with the times, so too must we. While our commitment to contemporary understated elegance has remained constant across our guestrooms and suites, our dining experiences and wellness spaces, and meeting venues – the moment has come for us to embrace a new chapter.”

The property also acknowledged its 15-year run before work began: “As the very first hotel envisioned by Giorgio Armani, the past 15 years have seen us welcome guests from around the world, hosting milestone moments and contributing to Dubai’s unique tourism landscape.”

On what guests can expect upon its return, the hotel said it aims to deliver “the next evolution of Armani hospitality, one that remains true to our iconic style, yet reimagined for the future, as we elevate every facet of the guest experience.”

No timeline has been disclosed for individual phases of the refurbishment work.
