A recent courtesy call paid by Kris Aquino and her two sons to First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos points to a cordial bond between the two families, according to Malacañang.
During an Aug. 11 press briefing, Palace Press Officer and Communications Undersecretary Claire Castro noted that the First Lady had yet to relay any account of the meeting, but that the gesture alone spoke to the closeness between them.
“Actually, I tried to ask the First Lady about that. Wala pa siya ni-share sa akin. Pero nakita naman natin kung ano iyong pahiwatig ng pagbisita ni Kris, ni Ms. Kris Aquino at ng kaniyang mga anak, nagpapahiwatig ito na maganda ang kanilang relasyon,” Castro said.
Castro indicated that the substance of the conversation remained undisclosed, and that she might not be at liberty to reveal it even if details had been passed to her.
“Kung ano iyong kanilang pag-usapan, wala po naibibigay sa akin at kung mayroon man ay baka hindi pa ako allowed sabihin ito,” she said.
She added that the participants had plainly enjoyed the encounter, and pledged to pass along any pleasant details once the First Lady chose to share them.
“But definitely masaya naman sila, pero kapag naibigay sa atin ni First Lady, ang mga magaganda nilang naging usapan, ishi-share ko naman iyan sa inyo,” Castro said.
Kris Aquino visited alongside her sons, Josh and Bimby, bringing along several cakes ahead of the First Lady’s Aug. 21 birthday.
Araneta-Marcos herself first made the visit public through a Facebook post on Aug. 9, in which she thanked the family for the unexpected gesture, calling it “such a thoughtful surprise that truly warmed my heart.”
