All 14 on board die as Aramco helicopter goes down in Saudi Arabia

A probe is now underway into what caused a Saudi Aramco helicopter to go down in Ras Tanura, an accident that left 14 people dead, with officials in the Kingdom saying the reason behind the crash has yet to be established.

The fatal incident took place early Sunday, at around 6:00 am local time, according to an official source at the Ministry of Energy. Every passenger aboard the aircraft died, the source confirmed.

All 14 victims were Saudi nationals, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.

Authorities have said the work of identifying the cause is being carried out alongside other relevant bodies, with the Ministry of Energy noting that the investigative process remains active.

In its response to the tragedy, the ministry offered condolences to those who lost relatives, praying that God Almighty grants them mercy and forgiveness and accepts them among the martyrs.

The aftermath drew a message of support from the United Arab Emirates, which stood alongside its neighbour in the wake of the loss. Through a statement carried by WAM, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs directed its condolences toward the bereaved families and toward Saudi Arabia’s leadership and citizens, while reaffirming that the country stands with the Kingdom through the difficult period and offering prayers for the victims and their families.
