Abu Dhabi is gearing up for an extraordinary New Year’s Eve celebration at the Sheikh Zayed Festival in Al Wathba, promising to break multiple Guinness World Records. The Higher Organizing Committee announced that the festivities will feature a spectacular 60-minute-long fireworks display, surpassing previous records in duration, quantity, and design complexity.
In addition to the fireworks, over 5,000 drones will light up the Al Wathba skies, marking a regional record for the largest drone show. The night will also include a unique laser show, cultural performances from around the world, and special presentations by the Emirates Fountain and the Glowing Towers Garden.
Visitors can also look forward to a variety of art and entertainment, including the release of 100,000 colorful balloons, live music, and DJ performances. To accommodate the expected large turnout, giant screens will broadcast the events outside the festival area.
The Heritage Village will host traditional New Year’s celebrations with Al Razfa and Ayala dances. Participating countries will showcase carnival shows and folkloric performances, reflecting their cultural traditions for New Year’s Eve.
For shopping and dining, visitors will enjoy discounts and a wide range of local and international cuisines. The Sheikh Zayed Festival remains open until March 9, 2024, offering a blend of entertainment, culture, and joy for all ages.
