Filipino workers in Abu Dhabi, Al Ain, and the Western Region whose jobs have been disrupted by the ongoing Middle East conflict are entitled to a one-time financial assistance of $200 (approximately AED 735) from the Philippine government — and the application process is entirely online.
The Philippine Embassy in Abu Dhabi, through its Migrant Workers Office, has made the aid available to OFWs whose employment was affected by the regional crisis that escalated following US-Israel military operations against Iran in late February 2026. Eligible workers include those who lost their jobs, had their working hours reduced, suffered salary cuts, or were placed under no-work-no-pay arrangements.
Who can apply
The program covers land-based OFWs working within the jurisdiction of Abu Dhabi, which includes Al Ain and the Western Region. Those based in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain are handled separately from OFWs in Dubai and the Northern Emirates, and must course their applications through the Philippine Embassy in Abu Dhabi or MWO Abu Dhabi.
What you need to prepare
Applicants must fill out the online application form and upload the following documents:
- Full name, email address, gender, and mobile number
- Passport number and a copy of the passport bio page
- Valid visa copy
- Emirates ID (front and back)
- Work designation, employer name, and company category
- Work location and place of visa issuance
- Accomplished Request for Assistance (RFA) form — to be signed on all pages
- Sinumpaang Salaysay (sworn affidavit) — to be signed on all pages
- Proof of employment disruption: a duly signed company notice
Workers without a company-issued certification may instead submit a notarized affidavit or a personal statement supported by a certification from MWO Abu Dhabi or the president of a recognized Filipino community organization.
Officials advise submitting only one clear proof of employment and one proof of work disruption — keeping the submission lean helps speed up the three-day evaluation process.
How to claim the assistance
Once approved, applicants may collect the cash over the counter at Al Ansari Exchange centers by presenting a valid Emirates ID or passport upon receiving an SMS notification.
For inquiries, OFWs may reach MWO Abu Dhabi at mwo_abudhabi@dmw.gov.ph. The application form is also accessible through the Philippine Embassy in Abu Dhabi’s official website and social media pages.
The Philippine government reminds OFWs that the assistance is entirely free of charge. No fees should be paid to any individual or agency claiming to facilitate the application on their behalf.
