The Strong Group Athletics emerged victorious against Beirut Sports Club with a final score of 94-72 during the Dubai International Basketball Championship semifinals held on Saturday. The Strong Group’s dominant performance now propels them into the tournament’s eagerly anticipated finals.
The Strong Group Athletics started the game strong, establishing a lead of 22-17 at the end of the first quarter. However, it was during the second frame that they truly asserted their dominance, outscoring Beirut Sports Club 28-17 to take an impressive 50-34 lead by halftime.
As the game progressed, the Strong Group maintained their commanding lead, leading by as much as 26 points with a score of 75-49, notably after Dwight Howard opened the fourth quarter with a scoring spree. Howard led the charge with a remarkable 26 points and an impressive 20 rebounds, while Kevin Quiambao contributed 18 points to the team’s success. Justine Baltazar and Jordan Heading added 15 and 10 points, respectively, to solidify the Strong Group’s victory.
On the opposing side, Dar Tucker led Beirut Sports Club with 22 points, but it wasn’t enough to overcome the Strong Group’s dominant performance.
With this win, the Strong Group Athletics have secured their seventh consecutive victory and will now face Lebanon’s Al Riyadi Club in the finals on Sunday.
