Bongbong Marcos attends Coldplay event, social media reacts to viral helicopter posts

President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. and First Lady Liza Marcos were in attendance on the first night of the Coldplay concert held at the Philippine Arena in Bulacan. This was verified by the Presidential Communications Office after images surfaced on social media showcasing President Marcos at the event. Coldplay kicked off the Manila segment of their “Music of the Spheres World Tour” to an electrified audience.

The concert venue was abuzz with excitement, as fans from various regions, including distant areas like Bukidnon, converged to witness the live performance. Notable tracks such as “Higher Power,” “Adventure of a Lifetime,” and “Paradise” were part of the setlist that evening, much to the delight of the audience.

However, the event wasn’t without its challenges. Reports indicate that as early as 4pm, extensive queues had already formed, with attendees patiently waiting for the doors to open at 5pm. The North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) experienced significant traffic congestion, with a 1.9-km traffic buildup recorded as concert-goers made their way to the venue.

Social media was rife with discussions and criticisms directed at the Presidential couple for reportedly arriving via helicopter, bypassing the traffic and logistical hurdles faced by the general public.
