Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) traveling through Clark International Airport can now access OWWA services and dedicated passenger facilities at the newly opened OFW Lounge in Terminal 2.
The facility, which began operations on September 19, is the fourth OFW Lounge established by the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) in partnership with airport operators. It joins existing facilities at NAIA Terminal 1, NAIA Terminal 3, and Mactan-Cebu International Airport.
The Clark lounge has 40 seats and operates around the clock. OFWs waiting for their flights can use complimentary meals and coffee, free Wi-Fi, charging stations, and a designated resting area.
Beyond providing a place to wait before a flight, the facility also serves as an OWWA service point. Workers can register or renew their OWWA membership, apply for an OWWA e-Card, and seek information or assistance regarding the agency’s programs and benefits.
OWWA Administrator Patricia Yvonne “PY” Caunan said the expansion of the lounges follows President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s directive to strengthen facilities and services for OFWs.
“Malinaw ang bilin ni Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.: alagaan natin ang ating mga OFW at gawing mas maginhawa at may dignidad ang kanilang paglalakbay. Kaya mula nang banggitin ng Pangulo ang OFW lounges sa kaniyang SONA, tuluy-tuloy tayong kumilos. Ngayon, apat na ang ating OFW Lounges sa mga pangunahing international gateways ng bansa,” ani Administrator Caunan.
She noted that nearly two million OFWs have used the country’s OFW Lounges since the facility at NAIA Terminal 1 was launched. The Clark site is expected to extend access to similar assistance to passengers using the airport.
“Mula nang buksan natin ang OFW Lounge sa NAIA Terminal 1, halos dalawang milyong OFWs na ang napagsilbihan at nakagamit ng ating mga lounge. Sa pagbubukas natin dito sa Clark, mas marami pa tayong maaabot. Hindi lang ito lugar para makapagpahinga. Dito mismo, maaari silang lumapit sa OWWA, magtanong, mag-avail ng serbisyo, at maramdaman na may gobyernong naghihintay, umaalalay, at kumikilala sa kanilang sakripisyo.”
The agency said placing services inside airports is intended to make government assistance more accessible to OFWs. Instead of making a separate trip to an OWWA office for basic transactions, departing and returning workers can approach personnel while they are already at the airport.
“Gusto nating maramdaman ng bawat OFW na sa kanilang pag-alis at sa kanilang pagbabalik, may OWWA silang maaasahan. Sa OWWA, ang miyembro protektado,” dagdag ni Caunan.
The Clark facility was established through an agreement between OWWA and Luzon International Premiere Airport Development Corporation (LIPAD Corp.), which was formalized through a Memorandum of Agreement signed on July 29, 2026.
Caunan also recognized the cooperation of LIPAD Corp., New NAIA Infra Corp. (NNIC), and Aboitiz InfraCapital in establishing dedicated spaces for OFWs at major international airports.
“Ang apat na lounges na ito ay magandang halimbawa ng maaaring magawa kapag nagtutulungan ang pamahalaan at pribadong sektor para sa ating mga OFW. Ang OWWA ang nagdadala ng serbisyo at Alagang OWWA, habang ang ating airport partners ay tumutulong upang magkaroon tayo ng maayos at accessible na espasyo para sa ating mga kababayan,” ani Caunan.
The four airport locations form part of OWWA’s broader effort to position welfare and social protection services closer to places regularly used by Filipino migrant workers, including major international gateways such as Clark, NAIA, and Mactan-Cebu.
