Three shell casings recovered as authorities probe deaths of mother, two children in Bulacan vehicle

Investigators are examining several possible angles into the deaths of a 31-year-old woman and her two children, aged nine and four, whose bodies were found inside a parked car in a remote part of Barangay Talacsan, San Rafael, Bulacan. All three died from gunshot wounds to the head.

At the scene, authorities recovered three empty casings from a 9mm firearm, according to preliminary information reported by GTV’s Balitanghali on Friday. A 9mm gun was also found inside the vehicle, though investigators have yet to determine whether the recovered casings came from that same weapon.

The firearm was reportedly licensed and registered under the woman’s name. She worked online for a US-based company.

Among the lines authorities are pursuing is the woman’s condition prior to the incident, following information that she had been dealing with depression and financial difficulties. Officials stressed, however, that this remains only one of several angles under review. Investigators also intend to question the last people known to have spoken with the victims.

Barangay officials told GMA News’ Unang Balita, in a report by Gabriel Gonzales aired Friday, that they received a call at around 2 p.m. Thursday about the parked vehicle. Responders who went to check found the three already dead inside. Residents suspect the car had been left at the location on Wednesday night.

As of this reporting, authorities have not identified any person of interest.
