The UAE is set to embrace the New Year with an extended weekend for its private sector employees. The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation has declared Monday, January 1, 2024, as a public holiday. This announcement, made on Thursday, ensures that private sector employees will enjoy a paid holiday to kickstart the new year.
Following the trend set by the federal government, which earlier today announced the New Year holiday for its employees, the private sector too will join in the celebrations. This decision was publicized through a tweet from the Ministry, confirming that all private sector employees in the UAE will benefit from this holiday.
The UAE residents have much to look forward to in 2024, with the Cabinet having announced at least 13 public holidays for the year. Notably, four of these holidays are poised to offer extended weekends, with one promising a six-day break.
