Emirati nationals hoping to make the pilgrimage to Mecca in the 1448 AH/2027 CE season will have a 12-day window to apply, with the General Authority for Islamic Affairs, Endowments, and Zakat setting a September 25 cutoff for submissions that begin September 14.
Applications will be handled entirely through the Authority’s website and its smart app. Rather than a first-come basis, spots will be allocated by an electronic sorting mechanism that weighs applicants against defined requirements, a process governed by Cabinet Resolution No. (32) of 2018. Names of those cleared to travel are expected on October 9, after which the Authority says it will reach out to confirmed pilgrims to walk them through the remaining formalities.
According to the Authority, work on the season is already underway well ahead of the registration dates, with officials pointing to a fixed schedule they intend to follow step by step through the sign-up and vetting stages. Part of that groundwork, it said, involves longer-term planning meant to raise the standard of care pilgrims receive both inside the country and once they reach the holy sites, so the rite can be carried out without disruption.
The Authority credited the UAE Hajj Affairs Office’s record in recent seasons to a pattern of reviewing its own results, testing new approaches, and making full use of what it has on hand. Those measures, it said, reflect the leadership’s broader push to look after the interests of everyone in the community.
