A Filipino organization that has grown to more than 3,000 members spread across all seven Emirates gathered at the Grand Excelsior Hotel in Deira on August 8, 2026, to mark its 14th year in the UAE. The Buhay Tsuper Family UAE Chapter held its anniversary get-together with cargo and delivery company Gulfwaves taking part in the festivities.
Leading the event was Luzviminda Datuin Santiago, known as Proud Pinay in Dubai, who serves as the group’s vice president and also holds the title of Mrs. Universe Official UAE 2024. She organized the gathering alongside chapter president Pion Kotico, with Pastor Marnel Villarino attending as a special guest.
For members who came to the celebration, Gulfwaves rolled out free balikbayan box delivery along with member-only discounts. The company framed its involvement as a form of giving back to Filipinos building their lives away from home.
Gulfwaves positioned its participation as an extension of ties it has formed with the community over time, describing its work as rooted in trust and relationships rather than transactions alone.
The chapter has established itself as a network that looks after Filipinos living and working throughout the UAE, offering support to members scattered across the country’s emirates.
