Newborns registered in the UAE can now have their birth certificates issued electronically the moment application requirements are met, Emirates Health Services (EHS) has confirmed, in a push to cut down on paperwork and repeat trips to service centers.
Eligibility extends across nationality lines. Both Emirati nationals and residents qualify, and the service is open not only to a newborn’s parents but also to anyone acting on their behalf under a valid power of attorney. Applicants must hold valid Emirates ID cards, which the system uses to verify identity during the online procedure.
EHS has set the issuance fee at AED 65. Those who prefer a printed copy delivered to their door can arrange home delivery for an added AED 20.75.
Applications are handled entirely through the EHS website or its smart app, where parents submit their requests and collect the finished certificate digitally whenever it suits them.
EHS frames the rollout as part of a wider drive to expand government services online and make civil and healthcare documentation easier to reach for people living in the country.
