A cleansing bar formulated to eliminate the need for separate body wash and deodorant products has secured a Best Buy Winner distinction at the 2026 Green Parent Natural Beauty Awards, held in London, United Kingdom. The honor places Bebot Simple Soap at the top of the publication’s recommendation list within its product category.
Behind the bar is Ruth Avegail “Avvy” Capapas, a Filipino-American pharmacist who founded AVEG Botanicals, LLC. Her formulation approach began with a question about product redundancy: whether a single well-designed bar could handle daily cleansing needs that consumers typically split across several items.
“What began as a personal effort to solve my own skin concerns has grown into something much larger,” she said. “To see a Filipino-inspired product recognized on the international stage is both humbling and encouraging. I hope it reminds others that innovation can come from ordinary experiences and that meaningful impact often begins with the simplest ideas.”
The consolidation carries a packaging benefit. Fewer products in a routine translates to less plastic entering the waste stream, a side effect the formulation was built to deliver alongside its cleansing function. Plant-based ingredients form the base of the bar, chosen for familiarity rather than novelty.
London marks the second international citation for the product this year. Berlin, Germany hosted the 2026 Green Product Award, which named Bebot Simple Soap among a global slate of entries acknowledged for sustainable design and innovation.
Capapas has attributed her formulation philosophy to her upbringing in the Philippines, where resourcefulness shaped how she thinks about consumption and waste.
“These awards are deeply meaningful because they recognize that sustainability doesn’t always require complicated solutions,” she said. “Sometimes the most meaningful innovation is making everyday life simpler. This recognition also reflects the values I grew up with in the Philippines—using what you have wisely, avoiding unnecessary waste, and believing that simple choices can make a lasting difference.”
The Green Parent Natural Beauty Awards rank among the more established consumer-facing awards programs for natural personal care in the United Kingdom. Bebot Simple Soap currently holds patent-pending status with the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
