SB19 to take Global Spin Live stage at GRAMMY Museum ahead of Lollapalooza bow

P-pop group SB19 is set to appear at the GRAMMY Museum’s Global Spin Live series on July 28, where the act will sit down for a live conversation about their music before delivering a performance at the museum’s Los Angeles venue.

The booking lands just two days before another landmark moment for the group: their first appearance at Lollapalooza in Chicago on July 30.

Member Stell, addressing reporters at a recent media conference, said the Lollapalooza slot already feels like a win regardless of what happens onstage. “For us, being part of such a big festival is already something to celebrate. Yung ma-invite pa lang to be part of that show, malaking bagay na for us, so we’re very thankful,” he said.

He framed the festival as a chance to widen P-pop’s audience and show what Filipino performers bring to a global stage. “It’s our opportunity as well to meet them, to introduce our team SB19, and to show them what the Philippines is all about when it comes to performing and what the Philippines is all about when it comes to showing our talent, our skills,” he said.

Stell also pledged that the group would leave nothing behind in Chicago. “Looking forward kami sa mapapakita namin and we will make sure na maging proud ang lahat and masasabi niyong deserve kami doon sa stage na yun,” he told fans.

In its writeup, the GRAMMY Museum pointed to the five-piece’s worldwide pull. “Since their debut in 2018, the group has become one of the most influential acts in Southeast Asian music, amassing over 1 billion career streams worldwide and cultivating a passionate global fanbase known as A’TIN,” the museum wrote.

The institution further credited the group as “widely recognized as the pioneers of modern P-pop” and noted their distinction as “the first Southeast Asian and Filipino act nominated for a US Billboard Music Award, earning a nomination for Top Social Artist in 2021.”

The US dates follow the close of the group’s Wakas at Simula concert, which the act staged on April 18 at the SMDC Festival Grounds.
