Two categories at this year’s Ideas Arabia International Award, organised by the Dubai Quality Group, went to Dubai Airports, with judges singling out the operator’s work on accessible travel for People of Determination guests and its use of digital tools and artificial intelligence in health and safety.
The accolade tied to accessibility points to momentum behind the DXB for All pledge, a commitment built around the goal of making the facility the most accessible airport anywhere by 2035. That programme took shape through direct collaboration with the People of Determination community, an approach the operator credits for steering the design of a smoother journey across the board.
On the safety side, the recognition centres on how Dubai Airports has rebuilt its approach to managing risk. The operator moved to a fully digitised system, layering in AI-driven refresher courses and virtual reality training, an arrangement it says benefits both travellers and staff by smoothing out the airport experience.
His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, who chairs Dubai Airports and serves as President of the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority alongside his role as Chairman and Chief Executive of Emirates Airline and Group, served as patron of the awards.
Dubai Airports attributed both results to the joint efforts of its oneDXB community, framing the wins as evidence of where its priorities sit on questions of innovation and day-to-day operational performance.
