A Dubai-based Indian expatriate, Ashish Moholkar, has become the latest millionaire after winning Dh15 million in the Abu Dhabi Big Ticket draw series 258. The draw took place during the UAE Union Day holidays, and Ashish, an account manager, purchased his lucky ticket, number 223090, on November 27.
Ashish, who was not watching the live draw, received a surprising call from the show host informing him of his newfound fortune. In disbelief, he asked, “I don’t believe you that I bought the ticket for Dh15 million. Am I really the winner?” The show’s hosts, including Richard, confirmed his victory, leaving him astonished and repeatedly questioning, “Is this real?”
The winning ticket turned out to be a free one obtained through a special promotion. Ashish had bought his ticket online during a buy-two-get-one-free offer, marking his first purchase after a two-year hiatus following his return to the UAE from India.
Upon learning of his win, Ashish expressed his intent to consult with his mother and wife before making any decisions, as he was completely shocked by the news.
The draw also announced ten other winners of Indian, Nepali, and Palestinian nationalities, each winning gold prizes worth Dh590,000. Additionally, Milu Kurian won a Range Rover Velar, with ticket number 006898, purchased online.
Looking ahead, the Big Ticket draw is set to offer a Dh20 million prize on January 3. Participants in this month’s draw will automatically enter the weekly electronic draw for a chance to win Dh1 million every week.
