Palace video shows Bato and Padilla riding same car out of Senate before dawn after shooting

Security footage released by Malacañang shows the two senators departing the Senate compound in the same vehicle in the early morning hours of May 14, days after a shooting incident rattled the legislative complex.

In the clips, Padilla is seen entering the Senate parking area first, followed by a woman in a cap and then Dela Rosa, who was wearing a dark jacket and cap. The footage shows them boarding a white Toyota Fortuner registered to Padilla. A man dressed in black was also observed trailing the senators out of the parking area, visibly speaking on his phone.

Philippine National Police chief Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr., speaking at a briefing Tuesday, confirmed the departure took place in the pre-dawn hours of May 14 — within hours of the shooting that had shaken the chamber.

The Palace released the footage on Wednesday, several days after the incident.
