MWO Hong Kong rolls out queuing system upgrade to cut wait times for OFWs

A new queuing system at the Migrant Workers Office in Hong Kong has cut wait times and reduced congestion since its launch on April 26, 2026, bringing a more organized service experience to Filipino workers in the city.

Labor Attaché Cesar L. Chavez said feedback from clients has been positive, with OFWs now able to wait in designated areas until their numbers are called rather than clustering near service counters. Chavez noted that the shift has allowed frontline staff to work more efficiently and has produced a noticeably calmer atmosphere at the office.

The Department of Migrant Workers describes the initiative as part of a broader push to digitalize and modernize how it delivers services to overseas Filipinos. MWO Hong Kong said the upgrade brings its service standards closer in line with those of government offices operating in Hong Kong itself.
