A Filipino expatriate in the UAE won Dh100,000 in the Mahzooz draw, coinciding with her birthday. Yvonne, a single mother of two, aged 17 and 12, received the life-changing news after purchasing a Mahzooz water bottle on her mother’s encouragement.
Yvonne, whose mother is currently visiting her in the UAE, was urged to participate in the Mahzooz draw on Saturday morning, a decision that turned out to be fortuitous. Unaware of her impending win, Yvonne spent Sunday morning with her family, only to receive a call from Mahzooz informing her of her victory.
This win marks Yvonne’s first major lottery prize, despite having participated in several raffles back in the Philippines. Overjoyed and still in disbelief, Yvonne plans to allocate a significant portion of her winnings towards buying a house, supporting her children, and assisting her siblings financially.
The Mahzooz draw also brought fortune to two other individuals. Jeevitha, a 32-year-old housewife from India, learned about her win while dropping her daughter at a drawing class. She intends to invest her prize in starting a business. Similarly, Suresh, a 39-year-old IT professional based in Sharjah, plans to use his winnings to settle financial liabilities and support his one-year-old son.
