Kris Aquino has contracted Covid-19 again, disclosing on Instagram Wednesday, May 6, that symptoms began shortly after she was released from the hospital earlier in the week.
The entertainment personality, who manages multiple autoimmune conditions, said she started feeling ill from the moment she left the medical facility on a Sunday morning. “I’ve been sick from the time I got out of the hospital, early Sunday,” she wrote, accompanying her post with a photo of a positive antigen test showing two lines on the kit.
Her eldest son, Josh, developed a cough around the same time, though Aquino said she did not want him to feel unwelcome despite the risk. “Kuya Josh on Monday started to cough and squeeze last night,” she wrote. “I didn’t want him to feel unwelcome and he was wearing his mask so I slept with him.”
Her condition worsened in the days that followed. She said weakness set in after receiving her Methotrexate injectable chemotherapy, with fever developing in subsequent days. Disrupted sleep from persistent coughing added to her discomfort. “I said sleeping is a lost luxury because of my neverending fits of evening coughing,” she wrote.
A conversation with Filipino fashion designer JC Buendia, who had himself recently been tested for the disease during a hospital stay, prompted Aquino to take her own test. “I checked on my friend [JC Buendia] and he had mentioned having been tested for [Covid-19] during his recent hospitalization,” she noted.
A photo in her post showed her receiving an injection while lying in bed. She set Justin Bieber’s “Never Say Never” as the audio backdrop for the update — a pointed choice given her ongoing health battles.
Aquino was seen in March meeting with friends, including actor and godson Dingdong Dantes, with the two later suggesting they were working toward a joint project.
