Davao City has retained its position as the country’s premier travel destination, earning the top spot in the World Travel Index’s April 2026 rankings for the second consecutive year.
The Mindanao city posted an overall world index rating of 75.66 — a marginal improvement from its 75.48 score in 2025 — reflecting what the WTI describes as strong conditions for a quality travel experience.
The World Travel Index is a global data platform that evaluates cities and countries against standards covering safety, affordability, infrastructure, and tourism appeal.
Puerto Princesa ranked second among Philippine cities with a score of 74.68, followed by Makati at 73.82 and Baguio at 73.78. Dumaguete (73.61), Cebu (73.29), Iloilo (71.22), Manila (68.98), Legazpi (68.29), and Lapu-Lapu (67.70) rounded out the top ten.
At the national level, the Philippines placed 33rd out of 193 countries with a score of 76.23. “The destination Philippines is characterized as well-developed and worth visiting,” the WTI noted in its April report.
