West Yas Community Park will host an adoption-focused celebration on 25 April, with rescued animals at the heart of the event as five UAE-based rescue organisations bring animals in search of permanent homes to Abu Dhabi’s Yas Island.
The Paws & Hearts Adoption Festival, running from 10am to 2pm, is organised in partnership with The Mussafah Dog Project, House of Hounds, Microchipped.ae, Animal Action UAE, and Eastern Mangroves Cat Rescue — groups working across the country to rehabilitate and rehome animals.
Attendees will be able to meet the animals directly, with each rescue carrying its own background and circumstances. On-site veterinary and physiotherapy support from Pet Pavilion’s team will be available throughout the event.
Beyond the adoptions, the programme spans a Yoga With Your Pup session led by Ria Haffar, a live agility demonstration with dog trainer Gabriel, and sets from DJ Keith. Carnival game stations, cotton candy, popcorn, face painting, henna art, and live caricature drawings round out the family-oriented lineup.
The Pups & Glam Contest gives pet owners a chance to show off their animals, while a Mini Market features local and small businesses. Food will be available across the duration of the festival.
