SB19’s biggest concert to date is heading to cinemas

A concert film of SB19’s Wakas at Simula: The Trilogy Concert Finale is in the works, following the group’s sold-out show at SMDC Festival Grounds on April 18.

The project is being produced by CJ 4DPLEX, a South Korean company under the CJ Group conglomerate with a track record in immersive concert cinema. Its executive producer, David Tu Sun Song, broke the news on Instagram on April 20 — two days after the concert — posting behind-the-scenes footage and photos of his crew at work during the event. One image showed the production team with all five SB19 members: Pablo, Stell, Ken, Josh, and Justin.

“SB19 concert film shoot DONE 🎬,” David wrote in the post, also thanking SB19, 1Z Entertainment, and the group’s fanbase, A’TIN.

“What we captured goes beyond just a recording. We’re bringing it back to the big screen. We’ll be back soon with something truly special,” he added.

David has a history with K-pop concert films, having previously worked on productions including BTS: Yet to Come, SEVENTEEN POWER OF LOVE: THE MOVIE, NCT DREAM THE MOVIE: In A DREAM, and Monsta X: The Dreaming.

The CJ 4DPLEX team was acknowledged in the concert’s closing credits during the finale, a detail that, in hindsight, publicly signalled their involvement before David’s announcement.

Neither SB19 nor 1Z Entertainment has issued an official statement on the film. Fans have pointed to the absence of a livestream as a likely indicator that a theatrical release was always planned. No release date or screening details have been announced.
