Our team at Global Filipino Magazine recently visited Kimuraya Authentic Japanese Restaurant at Sheraton Dubai Creek for an afternoon meal, and what stood out right away was the generous range of dishes on offer. While the Japanese BBQ and hot pot gave the experience its interactive and comforting appeal, the meal was also elevated by a strong selection of à la carte dishes that showcased the restaurant’s wider menu. The restaurant had a warm Japanese feel that added to the comfort of the overall dining experience.
The wagyu from the BBQ selection was easily one of the highlights of the afternoon. Tender, rich, and full of flavor, it had the kind of satisfying texture that makes table grilling enjoyable and memorable. Paired with the two flavor hot pot soup, which offered both warmth and depth, it created a balance of richness and comfort that worked especially well for group dining.
Kimuraya’s à la carte dishes also brought more character to the table. The shrimp tempura added a light crispness that contrasted nicely with the heavier items, while the wagyu gyoza delivered a savory bite that felt both indulgent and satisfying. The Paitan Miso Ramen brought a comforting element to the spread, while Gyudon and Katsu Curry Rice offered heartier options for diners looking for something more filling. Their menu also includes dishes such as avocado maki, tempura roll, dragon roll, wagyu minced cutlet, spicy tuna roll, California roll, salmon nigiri, yellow fin tuna nigiri, karaage, potato fried, and salmon sashimi.
The seafood selection helped keep the meal balanced. The tuna and salmon sashimi were fresh and delicate, while the mixed sushi added variety and rounded out the table nicely. Having sushi and sashimi alongside the BBQ, hot pot, and cooked dishes allowed the meal to move through different textures and flavors without ever feeling too heavy or one note.
Even the drinks added to the overall experience, with options such as Virgin Mojito, Cucumber Lemonade, Tropicana, and Tokyo listed on the menu.
Overall, Kimuraya delivered an afternoon meal that felt well rounded, satisfying, and easy to enjoy. Given the range of dishes served, from BBQ and hot pot to sushi, sashimi, and à la carte options, the experience also felt like good value for a group dining occasion.
