Park your car, support a local shop, and get your parking money back in Dubai

Dubai’s small businesses are getting a new foot-traffic boost through a parking incentive programme rolled out by Parkin Company, the emirate’s largest paid public parking operator.

The initiative, called “Spots for Shops,” allows motorists to recover a portion of their parking costs by making qualifying purchases at participating neighbourhood retailers. According to Khaleej Times, the cashback value is credited instantly to the customer’s Parkin wallet after a merchant verifies the visit through the app using the customer’s mobile number.

Parkin’s chief operating officer, Osama AlSafi, framed the programme as part of a broader rethink of what parking infrastructure can do for urban commerce. “Small businesses play a vital role in Dubai’s economic landscape, and ‘Spots for Shops’ reflects how Parkin is reimagining parking as an enabler of urban mobility and local commerce,” he said. “By seamlessly connecting parking with everyday retail experiences, we are making it easier for customers to access neighbourhood destinations while supporting local businesses and strengthening the wider ecosystem that drives the city’s growth.”

The pilot phase will open with 15 participating outlets, with redemption functionality going live on the Parkin app in early May 2026. Businesses already listed on the company’s website include Ravi Restaurant, Soam Vegetarian, Beirut Blendz, Cycle 2 Cycle, San Diego Key Cutting, Damyati Plus, The Laundry Hub, Naif Baker, and Al Embratoor, among others.

Under the mechanics of the scheme, a customer parks in any paid Parkin zone near a participating business, settles the applicable fee, and the merchant then processes the validation. Participating retailers carry the responsibility of delivering cashback benefits directly to customers.

The Dubai-listed company said the programme is designed to draw attention to lesser-known neighbourhood establishments that sit outside the city’s more prominent commercial corridors.
