Sara Duterte flags fake account soliciting list of lawmakers

A screenshot shared by Vice President Sara Duterte shows someone posing as her on a messaging platform and asking for names of congressional allies — the latest in what she described as an ongoing pattern of deception targeting the public.

Duterte posted the warning Wednesday through both her personal Facebook account and the official Office of the Vice President page, urging people to treat unexpected messages purportedly from her with suspicion.

The Vice President also connected the scam activity to the country’s current political climate, calling out those she said were preying on others during a period of crisis.

She made clear that she does not solicit favors — financial or otherwise — from the public under any circumstances.
