An Egyptian national was killed and four others wounded after fires broke out at Abu Dhabi’s Habshan gas facilities, triggered by falling debris from an intercepted aerial attack, UAE authorities have confirmed.
The Abu Dhabi Media Office said emergency teams responded rapidly and brought two separate fires under control. Damage to the facilities was described as significant, with assessment operations still underway.
Among the injured were two Pakistani nationals and two Egyptian nationals, all reported to have sustained minor injuries.
The UAE’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs formally condemned what it called an Iranian terrorist attack targeting both the Habshan gas facility and the nearby Bab oil field. Operations at Habshan were suspended following the incident as authorities assessed the extent of the damage.
This was not the first time the site had been affected. A March 19 incident at Habshan also involved missile debris landing on the facility after a successful air defense interception, though no casualties were reported at that time. The Bab field was struck on the same date.
Authorities urged the public to rely exclusively on official sources for information and warned against circulating unverified reports or rumors related to the attacks.
