After years of the two ecosystems operating in near-total isolation from each other, Samsung and Apple device owners can now transfer files directly between their phones without third-party workarounds.
Samsung announced that its Quick Share feature now supports AirDrop, allowing files to move seamlessly between Galaxy and iPhone devices. The rollout began March 23, launching first in Korea before spreading to other markets across Asia, Europe, and the Americas.
The Galaxy S26 series is the first to receive the update, though Samsung has indicated that more devices will gain support down the line.
Setting it up on the Samsung side takes a few steps. After updating the device, users navigate to Settings, then Connected Devices, and into Quick Share, where a “Share with Apple Devices” toggle will appear. Once that’s enabled, sending a photo is straightforward — open the gallery, hit share, select Quick Share, and tap the target Apple device.
The feature works in both directions. iPhone users can send files to Galaxy devices through the standard AirDrop interface they already know.
