A milder weather disturbance is on track to move through the UAE between March 31 and April 1, bringing rainfall that forecasters describe as far less significant than the storm that hit the country earlier this week.
National Centre of Meteorology expert Dr Ahmad Habib said the approaching system carries lower moisture content and weaker atmospheric dynamics than its predecessor. “This system has less moisture and weaker dynamics compared to the previous one,” he said, adding that all forecasts remain subject to change as new data becomes available.
Stratiform cloud cover will characterize the system, with most precipitation expected to be light to moderate. “Most of the rainfall will be light to moderate,” Habib said. “There could be some heavier rain, but only in very localised areas.”
Southern inland areas, the Al Ain vicinity, and select interior zones are expected to bear the brunt of the rainfall, while coastal areas should see comparatively little impact.
Habib said residents have no reason for concern or major preparations at this stage. “It will not be comparable to the recent system,” he noted.
The meteorologist also placed the recent run of unsettled weather within a broader seasonal context. “This is a natural characteristic of this time of year,” he said. “It’s a period where warm and cold air masses interact, creating unstable conditions.”
