A phone call between UAE President Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman brought renewed diplomatic pressure Monday on what both leaders described as a deteriorating regional security situation.
The two leaders condemned what they called “continued and blatant” Iranian attacks on countries across the region, pointing to what they characterized as “their violation of the sovereign rights” of these nations and of established international norms.
Both leaders warned that ongoing military escalation poses a direct threat not only to regional stability but to global security more broadly, calling for an immediate halt to hostilities.
The discussion also centered on the value of diplomacy as a path forward, with both sides stressing the need to prioritize substantive dialogue and peaceful means in resolving the region’s disputes while safeguarding peace and security.
