Emirates has pushed its suspension of flights further into the week, with cancellations from Dubai International Airport now confirmed through 3pm Gulf Standard Time on Tuesday, March 3, as regional airspace disruptions continue.
The airline has grounded all departures and arrivals through that deadline, with passengers scheduled to travel through Thursday, March 5 eligible to rebook or claim a full refund — a window that reflects the broader impact the disruption is having on traveler plans beyond the immediate cancellation period.
A spokesperson said the airline is not standing still on the situation. “We are actively monitoring the situation and engaging with relevant authorities,” the statement read, though no timeline for a return to normal operations was given.
Rebooking is available on any alternative Emirates flight within 20 days of the original travel date. Refunds can be requested directly through the airline for those who booked independently, while passengers who went through a travel agent are being directed back to their point of purchase.
The root cause remains multiple simultaneous closures of airspace across the region. “Due to multiple regional airspace closures, Emirates has temporarily suspended operations to and from Dubai,” the carrier confirmed, describing conditions as dynamic and continuously reassessed.
Travelers with upcoming bookings have been told not to go to the airport without first verifying their flight status at emirates.com or checking for any direct communication from the airline. “We apologise to customers affected by disruptions for any inconvenience caused, and we are assisting them with rebooking, refunds, or alternative travel arrangements,” the spokesperson added.
