A Filipino national facing several counts of frustrated murder was taken into custody after landing at Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 1 on Wednesday, authorities confirmed.
The 37-year-old suspect had just arrived from Los Angeles when he was stopped by government operatives during immigration processing. Law enforcers said his name appeared on an alert list, triggering immediate coordination among security units stationed at the airport.
Police identified the man as an alleged member of the Dawlah Islamiyah-Nilong Group. His apprehension was carried out through a joint effort involving the Philippine National Police Aviation Security Group (Avsegroup), the PNP Intelligence Group, the National Bureau of Investigation, and the US Federal Bureau of Investigation.
“He was promptly intercepted by joint operatives implementing a standing warrant issued by the court,” Avsegroup said.
According to Avsegroup director Brig. Gen. Dionisio Bartolome Jr., the arrest order was released by the Regional Trial Court in General Santos City on July 1, 2025. The case involves multiple frustrated murder charges filed against the suspect.
Following his arrest, the individual was placed under the custody of the National Bureau of Investigation for further legal proceedings.
