Filipino professionals working overseas will again have the opportunity to take their board examinations without returning to the Philippines, as the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) confirmed the schedule for the 2026 Special Professional Licensure Examinations (SPLE).
The exams will run from May 28 to 30, 2026 in selected sites across the Middle East, as well as in Hong Kong, Singapore and Taiwan. Testing in these locations will follow the same timetable observed in the Middle East.
A total of 39 licensure examinations will be offered, covering fields such as engineering, healthcare, education, architecture, accountancy, criminology, social work, and real estate practice. Among the professions included are nurses, medical technologists, midwives, pharmacists, civil engineers, mechanical engineers, architects, professional teachers, certified public accountants, psychologists, veterinarians, and registered electrical engineers, among others.
Examination venues in the region include Bahrain; Al-Khobar, Jeddah and Riyadh in Saudi Arabia; Israel; Kuwait; Qatar; Abu Dhabi and Dubai in the United Arab Emirates; as well as Hong Kong, Singapore and Taiwan.
Separate oral assessments are also scheduled for certain professional levels. The Professional Electronics Engineers Oral Examination will take place in Abu Dhabi from May 28 to 30, 2026. Meanwhile, the Professional Mechanical Engineers Oral Examination will be administered in Dubai from May 24 to 29, 2026.
Application filing opens on February 16, 2026 and closes on March 16, 2026. Candidates must complete their registration and payment through the PRC’s Licensure Examination and Registration Information System (LERIS). Fees are set at P2,200 for programs requiring a baccalaureate degree, P1,700 for non-baccalaureate programs, and P1,400 for removal examinations.
After online processing, applicants are required to upload scanned copies of their documents, including the accomplished application form, two passport-sized photos with name tags, and additional board-specific requirements listed on the Commission’s website.
The PRC stated that examinees must bring their original documents for presentation to the PRC delegation team at their designated testing center, where onsite evaluation schedules will also be arranged. Queries may be directed to licensure.office1@prc.gov.ph or licensure.division@prc.gov.ph.
