A new set of officers has formally taken the helm of the Philippine Professional Organization – United Arab Emirates (PPO-UAE), setting in motion a year defined by structured planning and measurable objectives. The oath-taking rites were administered by Philippine Consul General Arvic V. Arevalo during the group’s Leaders’ Night and Induction Ceremony at the Grand Continental Hotel in Abu Dhabi.
In his message, Consul General Arevalo reminded the incoming officers that their responsibilities extend beyond organizational duties. “Continue to embody the best qualities of Filipino professionals. Remember that you represent more than yourselves and more than this respected organization. You represent a proud people in a great nation, our motherland and ating bayang Pilipinas,” he said.
The organization brings together 23 Filipino professional associations across the UAE, covering more than 7,000 active licensed practitioners and a broader network exceeding 50,000 members, including inactive registrants. It coordinates closely with the Philippine Professional Regulation Commission, in partnership with the Philippine Embassy, the Philippine Consulate General, and the Migrant Workers Office, to conduct Special Professional Licensure Examinations (SPLEs) in the UAE. The program allows Overseas Filipino Workers to obtain or renew professional licenses without traveling back to the Philippines.
PPO-UAE Chairman Lyndon Magsino, CPA, CIA, EMBA, outlined the direction for 2026 under the theme “L.E.A.D.E.R.S. in Action: Empowering the Filipino Professionals in the UAE to be globally competitive and internationally recognized.” He framed the gathering as a reaffirmation of purpose rather than a routine ceremony.
“This evening is more than a formal gathering. It is a celebration of commitment. A celebration of service. And most importantly, a celebration of leadership in action,” Magsino said.
He stressed that the year’s agenda is anchored on defined priorities. “Our theme is not just a slogan. It is a call to purpose. It is a reminder that leadership is not defined by title, but by impact. Not by position, but by contribution. And not by recognition, but by responsibility,” he stated.
Under the L.E.A.D.E.R.S. framework, the organization will focus on strengthening licensure examinations in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, sustaining and improving SPLE implementation, expanding professional development initiatives, delivering executive education programs, building institutional partnerships with Philippine and UAE entities, securing accreditation with local authorities, organizing unifying events, and advancing social responsibility efforts.
“As Filipino professionals in the UAE, we stand on a global stage. Tonight, we affirm that we are not only contributors. We are leaders,” Magsino added.
