Dubai Police have released this year’s list of locations for the traditional iftar cannon firing, a Ramadan practice that signals sunset and the end of the daily fast.
The annual tradition remains one of the city’s most recognisable Ramadan customs, drawing families and residents who gather each evening to witness the cannon fire.
Among the main cannon sites confirmed for Ramadan 2026 are Expo City Dubai, Vida Creek Harbour Hotel, and Festival City, which will operate under the supervision of Dubai’s Department of Economy and Tourism. Dubai Police also listed Burj Khalifa among the key firing points.
Jumeirah Beach Residence (JBR) has also been included this year, marking the return of the iftar cannon to the area after nearly a decade.
In addition to the fixed locations, Dubai Police said partner-supported cannon sites will also be in place with the support of organisations including Emirates Airline, Dubai Airports, and Dar Al Ber.
Dubai Police also announced the introduction of a mobile cannon, known as Madfa’ Rahal, which will be deployed for the first time in 2026. The mobile unit is set to visit 11 different community and tourist locations across the emirate, including local neighbourhoods and schools.
The mobile cannon will also make stops at Bab Al Shams Hotel, Meydan Hotel, Atlantis Hotel, and Global Village.
Dubai Police said the cannon firing is more than a Ramadan tradition, describing it as a reflection of community spirit, togetherness, and the city’s focus on safety and hospitality throughout the holy month.
