The Filipino Catholic Apostolate (FILCA) joined the wider Catholic community in New York in welcoming the Most Reverend Ronald A. Hicks as the new Archbishop of New York during his Mass of Installation.
FILCA was represented at the solemn liturgical celebration by its chaplain, Rev. Fr. Rhey Garcia, whose attendance highlighted the group’s support for the Archdiocese and its continued service to Filipino Catholics across New York.
The apostolate expressed appreciation to the Archdiocese of New York for formally recognizing FILCA among its roster of apostolates, describing the inclusion as an affirmation of the Filipino Catholic community’s presence and contribution within the local Church.
FILCA said it will continue its mission of strengthening the faith life of Filipino Catholics through religious services, Filipino cultural practices, and community outreach initiatives.
Fr. Garcia, speaking on behalf of FILCA and Filipino Catholics in New York, extended prayers and well wishes to Archbishop Hicks as he begins his pastoral leadership of the Archdiocese of New York.
