Mindanao gives Sara Duterte an ‘excellent’ +70 rating in latest SWS survey

Vice President Sara Duterte continued to receive her strongest public satisfaction rating in Mindanao, where she posted a net score of +70 in the latest Social Weather Stations (SWS) survey conducted from Nov. 24 to Nov. 30.

SWS classified the Mindanao result as “excellent,” showing almost no movement from September’s +69 rating, which was tagged as “very good.”

Across the country, Duterte’s net satisfaction rating stood at +28, which SWS considers “moderate.” The figure was based on 54 percent of respondents saying they were satisfied with her performance, while 26 percent said they were dissatisfied.

Her national score rose by six points compared to the previous survey in September, when she recorded a net satisfaction rating of +22.

Outside Mindanao, Duterte posted a “good” net satisfaction score of +41 in the Visayas, improving from +32 in September. In Luzon outside Metro Manila, she registered a “neutral” +9 rating, up from -1. Metro Manila, however, recorded a net satisfaction of zero, down from +3.

The same survey earlier showed President Marcos with a “neutral” net satisfaction rating of -3. SWS reported that 40 percent of respondents were satisfied with his performance, while 43 percent were dissatisfied. The result was slightly higher than his September rating of -5.

Senate President Vicente Sotto III also remained within the “moderate” category, posting a net satisfaction rating of +16 in November, nearly unchanged from September’s +17. The poll found 46 percent satisfied and 30 percent dissatisfied with his performance.

House Speaker Faustino Dy registered a “neutral” +5 rating, based on 33 percent satisfied and 28 percent dissatisfied. This was a slight increase from his September net score of +2.

Chief Justice Alexander Gesmundo likewise received a “neutral” +9 rating, with 36 percent satisfied and 27 percent dissatisfied, matching his September result.

Sotto’s highest regional net satisfaction rating was recorded in Luzon outside Metro Manila at +26, followed by +17 in the Visayas, +5 in Mindanao, and +4 in Metro Manila. His Metro Manila rating dropped sharply from +17 in September.

Dy’s highest rating was also in Luzon outside Metro Manila at +12, followed by +2 in Mindanao. He received -2 in the Visayas and -7 in Metro Manila.

Gesmundo recorded his highest net satisfaction ratings in Luzon outside Metro Manila and the Visayas, both at +10. He posted +8 in Mindanao and +3 in Metro Manila.

SWS classifies net satisfaction ratings of +70 and above as “excellent,” +50 to +69 as “very good,” +30 to +49 as “good,” +10 to +29 as “moderate,” and +9 to -9 as “neutral.” Lower scores fall under “poor,” “bad,” “very bad,” and “execrable.”

The poll used face-to-face interviews with 1,200 adults and had a sampling error margin of ±3 percent for national results and ±6 percent for Metro Manila, Luzon outside Metro Manila, the Visayas, and Mindanao.
