Temperatures may fall to 4°C in higher elevations as cooler air settles over the UAE

Colder conditions are forecast to reach parts of the UAE on Tuesday, January 27, with temperatures in mountainous areas such as Jebel Jais expected to drop to around 4°C, while other regions remain comparatively mild.

According to the latest outlook from the National Centre of Meteorology, the day is expected to be fair to partly cloudy, with low cloud formations developing over some eastern and northern locations. Daytime temperatures across much of the country are forecast to peak at about 25°C.

Humidity levels are predicted to increase later in the evening and into Wednesday morning, particularly over western parts of the UAE. In response to reduced visibility caused by fog, the Abu Dhabi Police advised motorists to remain alert on the roads and follow variable speed limits.

Winds are expected to range from light to moderate, shifting between northwesterly and northeasterly directions, with speeds generally between 10 and 20 km/h and gusts reaching up to 35 km/h at times.

Sea conditions are forecast to be slight to moderate in the Arabian Gulf and generally slight in the Oman Sea.

In major cities, daytime highs are expected to reach about 23°C in Abu Dhabi and 24°C in both Dubai and Sharjah, while nighttime temperatures may fall to approximately 18°C, 19°C, and 16°C, respectively.
