Azmi Mtanious Hourani, a Syrian national residing in Abu Dhabi for 25 years, emerged as the grand prize winner of Dh20 million in the Series 257 Big Ticket draw held yesterday.
Hourani, who had resolved that his latest ticket purchase would be his last after more than 100 unsuccessful attempts, was stunned to receive a winning phone call from Big Ticket representatives. His lucky ticket was bought at Abu Dhabi International Airport during a trip to Germany. Still reeling from his good fortune, Hourani remains undecided on how he will spend his windfall but is considering investment opportunities.
The draw also celebrated ten other winners of Indian and Filipino origins, who were each awarded gold prizes, sharing a total value of Dh590,000.
Adding to the night’s excitement, Azaruddin Moopar Ameed, an Indian national living in Saudi Arabia, won a Maserati Ghibli. An employee at Nessma Partners, Ameed has been a regular participant in the cash prize and Dream Car raffles, buying tickets for two years. He and his friends who jointly purchase tickets were elated upon discovering their win on the Big Ticket website. Despite their win, Ameed expressed his intention to keep participating in hopes of winning the cash prize one day.
Looking forward, the Big Ticket draw slated for December 3 promises to crown another individual with the grand prize of Dh15 million. Moreover, ten additional participants will have the opportunity to win 24 karat gold bars.
Big Ticket urges customers to remain vigilant and only purchase tickets through verified channels to avoid counterfeit tickets and ensure participation in the upcoming draw.
