Doha will host a high-level basketball coaching clinic in early February as Champions Class opens its doors to coaches seeking advanced instruction from the professional ranks. The one-day program is scheduled for February 5, 2026, positioning the Qatari capital as a regional learning hub ahead of the Batang PBA Middle East tournament week.
The clinic will be led by Richard Del Rosario, whose career spans both professional play and decades on the sidelines. Now serving as deputy head coach of Gilas Pilipinas and Batang Gilas, as well as deputy head coach of Barangay Ginebra San Miguel, Del Rosario will headline the session designed specifically for practicing coaches.
Organizers said the Doha-based clinic is tailored exclusively for coaches, focusing on high-level systems, leadership principles, and long-term player development. The program aims to translate championship experience into practical frameworks that can be applied across youth, amateur, and competitive team settings.

Del Rosario’s presence brings significant professional pedigree to the event. After an early end to his playing career following a car accident in 2003, he built a reputation as a steady and respected assistant coach in the PBA, contributing to multiple title runs with teams such as Barangay Ginebra San Miguel, Rain or Shine, and the San Mig Super Coffee Mixers. His coaching work has also extended to the collegiate level, including a head coaching stint with the College of St. Benilde, alongside continued involvement in basketball analysis and media.
The Champions Class session in Doha will run as a paid clinic, with participation covering the full coaching program and certification components. Registration details have been released, with organizers noting that slots are limited and interest is expected from coaches across the Middle East region.
