Four young siblings from an Indian expatriate family were buried in Dubai on Tuesday, as relatives gathered to bid farewell following a road accident that has left both parents and their only surviving child injured.
Abdul Latif Mullaian attended the burial of his children — Ayash, 5, Azzam, 8, Ammar, 12, and Ashaz, 14 — after noon prayers at Al Qusais Cemetery. The deaths stemmed from a traffic accident that occurred in the Al Shahama area on Saturday.
Three of the children died at the scene, while the fourth succumbed to injuries on Monday evening at Shakhbout Medical City, where he had been receiving treatment. The passing of the fourth child came as burial preparations for his siblings were already underway.
The children’s parents and their 10-year-old sister were also injured in the crash and remain under medical care. The family’s domestic worker, who was with them at the time of the accident, did not survive.
Originally from Kerala, the family has been living in Dubai for several years. All four children were enrolled at Arab Unity School in the emirate.
