PH ambassador calls on Filipinos in UAE to stay united and committed in 2026

As Filipino communities across the United Arab Emirates step into 2026, the Philippine ambassador to the UAE underscored the role of overseas Filipinos in shaping a positive image of the country through everyday conduct, work, and community life.

In his New Year message, Ambassador Alfonso A. Ver pointed to the past year as a period that again highlighted the resilience and perseverance of Filipinos in the UAE, noting how these qualities continue to define the Filipino presence across different sectors of society and the economy.

He encouraged Filipinos, regardless of profession or personal circumstance, to sustain the values of competence, compassion, and integrity that have long characterized their contribution to their host country, both in workplaces and within family and community settings.

The ambassador also emphasized the collective responsibility of Filipinos to support one another and to preserve a shared sense of identity anchored in Filipino values, as they pursue opportunities and navigate challenges abroad.

On the institutional front, Ver reaffirmed that the Philippine Embassy in Abu Dhabi and the Consulate General in Dubai, working alongside Migrant Workers Offices, the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration, the Philippine Trade and Investment Center in Dubai, the Defense and Armed Forces Attaché, and other partner agencies, will continue delivering accessible and responsive services to Filipinos in the UAE.
