Fashion, art, and global voices take center stage at Manila International Fashion Week Season 6

Rather than centering solely on runway presentations, Manila International Fashion Week (MIFW) Season 6 unfolded as a multi-day platform that merged fashion, policy dialogue, and cross-border collaboration, positioning the event as a key convening space for the Philippine creative economy.

The season drew participation from international diplomats, trade officials, and fashion executives, including His Excellency Dato’ Abdul Malik Melvin Castelino bin Anthony; Atyom Tsinamdzgvrishvili, Trade Commissioner of Russia in the Philippines; Mr. Adhwa Azmil, Assistant Trade Commissioner of MATRADE Manila; Jay Ishak, CEO and Co-Founder of MyFashionChamber; Dr. Leena Al-Mujahed, Co-Founder and Chairman of MyFashionChamber; and Dr. Faisal Al-Maslukh, Advisor of MyFashionChamber.

Activities opened with the MIFW Fashion & Lifestyle Awards on November 28, 2025, recognizing individuals whose work has influenced both social development and the creative sector. Two days later, on November 30, 2025, the Creative Industry Forum convened designers, entrepreneurs, and strategists to examine the evolving role of fashion across markets and cultures.

Forum discussions featured speakers Amerigo Tatel (Russia), Atyom Tsinamdzgvrishvili (Russia), Augustine Wong (Malaysia), Dr. Spencer Kyle Tee (Philippines), Isybella Grace Primus (Australia), Jay Ishak (Malaysia), Ramon Addazi Gouveia (Italy), and Alexia Nunes (Brazil), bringing regional and international perspectives into a single dialogue.

Runway programming was organized into themed segments. Young Faces to Watch introduced emerging designers Bench Bello, Jay-R Gamboa Flores, Florelyn Lara Donato Ugale, Lorienel Agawin, and Elena Murzina. The following segment, Style Meets Art, combined fashion and visual expression through Style Your Denim x Uniqueka, an art presentation by Jason Tanjuakio, a collective showcase by Emily Sy, Bags & Beyond by Pamela Lomibao, and works by Lorienel Gerebise Agawin.

The MIFW The Model Search 2025 segment featured a jury composed of Riza Oben Dormiendo, Mylene “Myse” Salonga, Sheralene Shirata, Ysabella Grace Primus, Jay Ishak, Joshua Benedict, Jessie Maloles, and Leonida Ortiz, highlighting the scouting and development aspect of the event.

Filipino design took center stage during the Local Designers Showcase, presenting collections by Bench Bello, LJ Boiser, Jaime Escarpe, Jay-R Gamboa Flores, Paulo Juan, Nash Leeho, and Rye Baile Misajon. International perspectives followed with designers Jonathan Yun (Malaysia), Alexia Nunez (Brazil), Joey Gicoso in collaboration with Ms Bella Collections (Australia), Etsuka (Japan), Marjorie Kobayashi (Japan), and Elena Murzina (Russia).

Across these presentations, collections addressed sustainability, heritage reinterpretation, couture techniques, and experimental design approaches. The season concluded its runway narrative with Bravo Filipino, where Alex Pigao presented nature-inspired designs, and Mikee Andrei showcased works noted for refined structure and emotional expression.

MIFW Season 6 was overseen by Bench Bello, with Lotho and Larry Asistin directing the event. Amira Alawi served as moderator for the Creative Industry Forum and co-hosted the red carpet alongside Thalya Cruz.
