Six jailed, deported in UAE after group knife attack leaves victim permanently injured

A Ras Al Khaimah court has handed down prison terms and deportation orders to a group of Asian men convicted over a coordinated knife assault that resulted in permanent harm to the victim, according to a report by Khaleej Times.

The First Misdemeanour Criminal Court sentenced six defendants to three months behind bars, followed by deportation upon completion of their jail terms. The blade used in the attack was ordered confiscated as part of the ruling.

Court records show that the incident centered on a violent intrusion into the victim’s residence. The principal defendant was found to have entered the home carrying a knife and attacked the victim, inflicting multiple stab wounds. Prosecutors established that the injuries caused long-term disability, even though the court determined there was no proven intent to cause permanent damage.

Several others were held criminally liable for their supporting roles. Judges found that the accomplices traveled with the main assailant to the location, assisted him in accessing the property, and remained present during the assault, actions the court said directly enabled the violence and its severe outcome.

The verdict was issued with four of the accused present in court, while five others were convicted in absentia. In a related decision, three defendants named in the case were cleared of all charges.

The court also ordered the seizure of the weapon involved, reflecting judicial measures aimed at curbing the circulation of knives and addressing group-perpetrated violence under UAE law.
